uptime

The Ufies are overdoing each other in uptime stories:

Heh, we had a DEC Alpha that got heavy use from people using it for
mail, writing and compiling software, etc etc. It got over 1000 days
uptime (I can’t remember the figure, but it was pretty substantial).
They had to take it offline when it caught on fire and smoke damaged a
bunch of other machines.

I remember going thru the computer room at NMSU .. in the back was a CRAY with as they said, 1500+ days uptime.. no idea what it’s running.. but it was running something. No one had the admistrative password and no one wanted to touch it… hmm, wonder it is still running..
